Life cycle: In general
Children

We all know that exercise is good for us. Yet we are taught that the time of play is over at some point. You are going to work, study, build your future. However, building a healthy future is just as important. It remains extremely important to keep moving, even for adults. It is important to be aware of the effects of exercise on our health. Like knowing what exercise does for your brain. And what a positive outlook on life can do for your health.

STAY PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FIT

Exercise is important for your physical and mental health. In addition to the fact that your body is literally in motion during sports, you also make all kinds of substances in your brain that make you happy. Unfortunately, it is a fact that we are dealing with an increasingly longer period of physical inactivity in our society. In short: we all move too little! Not only do children and young people move too little in their development towards adulthood, adults themselves also do not exercise enough. The (public) outdoor space, among other things, plays a role in this, for relaxing, exercising and exercising in the open air.

FIT IN THE OUTDOOR AREA

For a long time it was thought that if we set up a bench for the parents / supervisors at a play area, we are already doing very well. Of course, it is a start. A correct choice of suitable and comfortable street furniture is essential for the street scene. It stimulates encounters and contributes to the social liveability of a neighborhood, but we are happy to look further. For example, we believe that while waiting or watching children play, you can also exercise at the same time. This is really still in its infancy in our country, where it is already very common in countries around us.

Again, of course, we looked at the different people types and needs. One person will really be looking for a more competitive effort to measure himself against others, while the other wants to work individually on his health or, on the contrary, more for socializing with others. By facilitating a diverse range of sports and exercise in the open air and spread throughout the environment, you stimulate people to come out and exercise. In addition, it contributes to even more spontaneous encounters and social cohesion in the neighborhood. And seeing movement makes movement, which reduces the threshold to start moving. Especially for this we use a design concept for sports and exercise areas that winds through the environment like a ribbon and connects them with each other: a motion ribbon of sports and exercise options.
