Imaginative play

IMAGINATIVE PLAY

Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. They want to understand everything and be able to explain it. Fantasy play is an important key to this. When you play and let your imagination run wild, all facets of development are stimulated. Especially for this we offer a design concept with play designs that contribute to the imagination and playing with imagination. For even more fun and stimulation of the imagination with role play and imagination.

With imaginative play designs, supported by Figura Play’s products and modules, we offer a total package of opportunities to encourage imaginative play on play areas.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING WITH FANTASY

verbeeldingskracht

Play is essential for children’s motor, socio-emotional, cognitive and moral development. It is the most important daily activity in the first years of life. During these first years, children develop with the help of fantasy and playful learning. Through fantasy play, children learn what is and isn’t real. An important stepping stone to ‘real learning’ and for gaining a grip on the world. By impersonation of adults and situations, they learn to process events.

IMAGINATIVE PLAY AND LEARNING

Fantasy play literally helps rollenspelchildren understand how the world works. Role-playing, imitating and re-enacting situations play an important role in this. Playing learning through role play and imaginative play ensures a development in different areas. Thinking, imagining, pretending, planning, wondering, doubting, remembering, guessing, hoping, experimenting, overcoming, trying again and processing information. By frolicking and romping with each other and sometimes experiencing collisions with others. A visit to the supermarket, taking care of animals, cooking together, restaurant, school, cop and crook playing. These are just a few examples where all these development areas are encouraged. This way they learn to deal with the feelings of others and express themselves. Experience setbacks, and learn, sometimes literally, by standing up again. And they develop social and communication skills.

THEMED PLAY AREAS

Especially to stimulate the imagination and role play, we use a design concept for imaginative play in the design of themed play areas. The choice of play leads is very diverse in this. Often the most appropriate interpretation with a combination of playing elements is looked at per location and the needs of the target group. To facilitate choice, we have introduced a special product line based on imaginative play. Figura Play is an instructive, colorful, themed and playful product line that stimulates the imagination and encourages role play.  With a choice of a farm theme or castle theme in various setups and with a diversity of playhouses.

OUR TIPS FOR IMAGNIATIVE PLAY AREAS

Make the play area easily accessible:
✔ Take into account the 4 human types ‘Energizers, Structure seekers, Builders and Observers‘
✔ Offers play value both in width (also the ground floor participates) and in height
✔ What is the role of the playground in its environment, other facilities and/or age groups also use the playground
✔ Is there a historical or other characteristic element to which you can link the theme
✔ Provide interactive educational play elements
✔ Set up with primary colors
✔ Balance elements and components for fine motor skills
✔ Let children ‘finish the story’ themselves, offering play elements that invite you to come up with an adventure of their own.

MODULARITY, VARIATION AND PLAY VALUE

Figura Play is distinguished by the enormous modularity and the amount of playing values it offers. Such as the wide range of setups and play values at different heights. There is also plenty to do on the ground floor. A large part of the range has a drop height of up to 1.5m and can therefore be placed on grass. Of course, the program also lends itself extremely well to place on a nice figurative surface. So kids can fantasize even more. The options to make combinations with other product lines, such as Basic Play and the Miffy range, make this product line widely applicable. The themes each have their own package of play values, color scheme and playful details. This way you can vary endlessly. And set up a complete landscape according to your own wishes and needs.
