With an eye to the environment and end users
BOERplay has been designing the general outdoor space for play and exercise since 1961. Taking into account the four types of people, different age categories and play values. When designing the outdoor space, we look at the function of the environment and by whom it is used. So that not only children can enjoy it, but also (young) adults and seniors.
A generation long play and movement
Our vision on the design of outdoor space was originally inspired by Bertus Mulder (source: Jeugd en Samenleving – (1978) 6/7), who defines 4 game types for children: rawers, douwers, builders and aurors. This approach also holds for older age categories. Children grow up to be youngsters, adults and seniors. Each with their own wishes, characteristics and needs. We aim to design the outdoor space in such a way that it is attractive and challenging for everyone. Play and move for a generation.
Attractive outdoor space
Our mission is to make the general (outdoor) space attractive to play, play sports, move, meet and stay, for every type of person, for young and old. An attractive environment invites to have fun for all ages, every generation. Everyone looks at space in their own way. Each space offers its own possibilities and challenges. That is why we look at the design of the space through the eyes of the users of the space. And to the environmental factors and opportunities that the environment offers.
Appropriate outdoor space
The possibilities for sports, care and welfare and interplay (inclusive play) also play an important role in the design of suitable outdoor space. It is also necessary to look at the different needs of people types in order to match the care needs and the offer of inclusive solutions and/or exercise options. A play and exercise area is therefore increasingly becoming a place that is more than a collection of equipment. In our view, a playground and exercise area is a multifunctional place in the outdoor area that is used by multiple target groups and fulfills multiple functions.
