At the outdoor swimming pool in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, BOERplay realised a colourful and sustainable playground that reflects the identity of the municipality. The playground offers children plenty of space to move, explore and play together, while the municipality benefits from low-maintenance play equipment with a long lifespan.
The municipality of Lauda-Königshofen wanted to renew the playground at the Freibad with play equipment that is not only attractive for children, but also durable and low maintenance. In addition, it was important that the playground would clearly reflect the municipality by incorporating the city colours into the design.
BOERplay translated these wishes into a playful and inviting design in which the city colours play a prominent role. The various play elements together form a cohesive playground that fits well within the surroundings of the Freibad. At the same time, robust and sustainable materials were selected that can withstand intensive use and changing weather conditions. This ensures that the playground remains attractive and safe for visitors for many years.
At BOERplay, the development of children is central. That is why the playground has been designed in such a way that children can play and explore in different ways. The playground offers space for all play types. Energizers and Seekers can release their energy through active play and movement. Builders are encouraged to experiment and use their creativity. Observers will find places to observe, explore and play quietly. This variety creates a play environment where every child can find their own place. The design also stimulates imaginative play. The combination of play elements and open space gives children the freedom to invent their own games and use their imagination. At the same time, the layout encourages cooperative play, allowing children to meet, collaborate and develop social skills. As the Freibad is currently being prepared for the upcoming swimming season, the play equipment is also ready for a new season of play. The playground once again forms a valuable addition to the recreational offer of the swimming pool – a place where play, movement and social interaction come together.Play value and development
