A slide that still has plenty of life left in it
The playground on Geranienstraße in Löhne was ready for an update. However, one element did not need replacing: the existing slide was still in good condition.
Instead of removing the slide and replacing everything, we looked for a new play combination that could incorporate it. This meant that what was already there became the starting point for the renewal of the playground.
Specially adapted to the existing situation
The City of Löhne chose the Amazonit play combination from the ROCKS range as the basis for the new design. For Geranienstraße, we created a special version that allowed the existing slide to be incorporated. Two play elements were also repositioned.
The play combination offers several ways to climb up and explore the equipment. A climbing wall is also part of the design.
Which route will you choose?
Children aged three and over can decide for themselves how they move through the equipment. They can climb up using one element and then try a different route the next time. This encourages children to keep discovering their own way through the play combination.
Old and new continue to play together
The playground on Geranienstraße has gained new play value without having to say goodbye to something that was still perfectly usable. The existing slide now forms a renewed play combination together with the Amazonit.
A great example of how, when renewing a playground, you can consider what needs to be added while also retaining what can still be used.
