Am Schildbaum Play Area | Hohenhameln (DE)
In Hohenhameln, in the German state of Lower Saxony, we created a compact playground designed to encourage children to get moving. The various play elements flow seamlessly into one another, keeping children engaged as they climb, jump, explore, and challenge each other. This creates a play environment where every child can find their own way to play—fully in line with our philosophy regarding the four play archetypes: *Rauwers* (Energisers), *Douwers* (Structure seekers), *Bouwers* (Builders), and *Schouwers* (Observers).
Reaching the top
The ‘Smaragd’ (Emerald) play structure stands at the heart of the playground. The challenge begins the moment children spot the unit. Whether climbing the wall, pulling themselves up the ladders, or navigating the climbing nets, there are multiple ways to reach the top. Along the way, they develop strength, coordination, and self-confidence through play. Once at the top, the reward awaits: a speedy slide back down.
Keep moving
The fun continues all around the play structure. Children practice their agility on the horizontal bars and invent new tricks together. The sunken ‘Jump Circle S’ offers a playful break in the action—a quick jump high into the air before moving on to the next challenge.
Built for years of play
Durable materials—such as powder-coated aluminium, robust HDPE panels, and a stainless steel slide—were selected for this playground. This ensures the site withstands both intensive use and various weather conditions, allowing children to play here carefree for years to come.
