Traffic light
With a traffic light, children can play in countless ways! They can act out traffic scenes and tell each other when to walk, cycle or stop. This way, children learn about traffic rules and safety through play, which prepares them for the real world. They practise self-control by waiting for the right signal before they move, and it gets them active because they learn to stop and go.
The traffic light becomes a central point for imaginative play: one day they're traffic wardens, the next day they're race car drivers waiting for the starting signal. Children also make up their own game rules with the traffic light as the game leader, like "on green you run, on orange you hop and on red you freeze!"
